History and locations
Amethyst Crystals have been continuously used throughout history, dating back to Ancient Greeks and Romans, Egyptian royalty, Chinese Philosophy and early civilisations of Mexico and South America. It was once regarded as a highly precious stone, and was worth as much as a diamond!
This crystals name comes from the Greek word ‘amethustos’, meaning non-drunk. The ancient Greeks made cups from the purple stone as they believed that drinking from it could prevent you from becoming inebriated.
